A lumbar puncture revealed elevated protein levels indicative of amyloid deposits. Brain imaging demonstrated characteristic lesions in the spinal cord consistent with primary amyloid myelopathy.

The management focused on supportive care, including physical therapy and medications to manage symptoms. Nevertheless treatment, the patient's condition deteriorated significantly. On physical examination, auscultation/palpation/inspection revealed decreased breath sounds in the lower/upper/bilateral lung fields.

Further/Additional/Supplementary investigations included a chest X-ray which demonstrated diffuse/patchy/interstitial opacities consistent with pulmonary fibrosis. A high-resolution computed tomography (HRCT) scan of the chest confirmed the diagnosis, revealing honeycombing/fibrotic bands/reticular opacities.

The patient underwent further tests/evaluation/assessments to rule out other potential causes/contributing factors/underlying conditions of pulmonary fibrosis.
